Battle Rattle 5K Walk/Run for USO Indiana(A group project from the Leadership Johnson County Class of 2010) This event is dedicated in honor of Marine Sgt. Jeremy R. McQueary, a true American hero from Columbus, who gave his life on Feb. 18, 2010 while supporting combat operations in Helmand Province Afghanistan. All Particpants!!! Notice to All Participants: Just a reminder that check-in and shirt pickup begins on Saturday, May 1 at Franklin Community High School at 7:30 a.m. Click below to see a pdf of directions to FCHS. Be sure to bring some extra cash and/or checks (no credit cards) to participate in the silent auction, purchase food or get a chair massage!! And remember, proceeds are going to the USO site at Camp Atterbury, supporting our men and women in uniform. We have several interactive displays, activities and booths planned for the day, including: · Silent Auction · The House of All Ranks Club (Food Vendor from Camp Atterbury) · Two massage therapy chairs · CSM laser marksmanship training system, used at military bases to improve marksmanship (simulates firing an M-16 rifle at targets) · Hummer armored vehicle · Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicle (Armored vehicle) · Dear Solider….(Kids can write a letter to a soldier, which will be distributed to soldiers as they board buses departing from Camp Atterbury when deploying) · Camo face painting for kids · Partnership for a Healthier Johnson County – Get Fit Franklin! · Wal-Mart, our Title Sponsor (will be distributing some free items) · Leadership Johnson County · USO of Indiana – please sign up to volunteer at the Camp Atterbury site! · Music provided by a DJ throughout the event · And a few surprises as well!
