Our Mission:
The Mission of Battle Rattle II s to carry on the support, increased awareness, and fundraising for the USO Indiana in support of our men and Women in uniform.
Our Vision:
The Vision of Battle Rattle II is to provide the best possible 5K run and walk possible and continue the success and tradition of funds being raised in support of our Military at Camp Atterbury through USO of Indiana.
Let us help you understand why we need your support!
- USO has three locations: A brand new facility opened in Summer 2010 at the Indianapolis International Airport, 2nd location is on the grounds of Camp Atterbury, 3rd location is a new center at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center
- Our Project focus is on the Camp Atterbury USO site and the new building that is projected to open in the Spring of 2011
- The USO receives very little financial support from the national USO and none from the state or federal government – It relies on donations and volunteers such as yourself and other fellow Americans to function
- The USO serves as a home-away-from home for soldiers and their families. It provides travel support and refreshments as well as the use of computers with internet access, pool tables, ping pong tables, TV’s video games, books and movies – all of these activities are available free of charge to soldiers and their families seven days a week.
- As Camp Atterbury is continuing to expand, one of our goals with this race is to assist in making a fenced in picnic area complete with picnic tables, grills and gaming areas so that are soldiers can use this area as a time for relaxation either before deployment or once they are home.
- Additional goals of our Project team:
- Raise Awareness about USO Indiana and the Camp Atterbury location
- Raise funds to enhance their new facility
- Increase Volunteers at the site
